Building Management to Resident chat (2-way)

A 2-way Management to Resident chat allows building management to communicate, in real time, directly with a single resident and vice versa. Both parties can exchange messages, media, and files with each other. If there are multiple building managers, all managers will have access to this chat and can respond or send messages, ensuring continuous support regardless of the manager available.

How to create a Resident Chat

  1. Navigate to the messages page in the connecX portal. Messages can be found near the bottom of the left navigator bar.
  2. Click the teal plus button next to the search bar on the messages page.
  3. A pop-up will appear with four different messaging options. Click on Resident Chat.

  4. You will see the interface for starting a new chat within the messaging system.

    Recipient Search Bar(top):
    The bar at the top allows the user to enter a name or email to search for a chat participant. This is the initial step when starting a new chat, where users are added by typing in their details.

    Chat Interface Placeholder(center):
    The section in the middle shows a placeholder message, explaining what the chat is.

  5. Search for and select a user. As you type in the search bar, the system displays a dropdown of suggested contacts. This list includes names, emails, of individuals that can be selected to add to the conversation.

  6. If you choose a user with an existing chat, the system will redirect you to that chat and open it.

  7. If you choose a user with whom you don't have an existing chat, it will initiate a new one and display the message composer. Type the first message into the message composer, and once you click send, a new chat will be created.
