We’re excited to share the latest updates to the messaging system in the building management portal. This release introduces key improvements to enhance usability while resolving specific issues discovered since the new messaging system was released in October.



Key Improvements


1. Pin/Unpin Chats

Building Managers can pin and unpin chats directly from the chat settings panel. This feature makes it easier to keep essential conversations accessible and organised.

2. Highlighting Archived Users

Archived users are now clearly labelled in the member's list, providing better visibility and simplifying chat management.

3. Pending Messages

Resolved an issue where rejected pending messages continued to appear in the chat view and side panel.

4. Email Notifications

We have improved our email notifications for messages, ensuring residents and building managers are promptly notified and that our new format complies with Australian privacy law.



Resolutions

1. Notifications for New Chats

We fixed a bug that prevented notifications from being sent when starting a direct or resident chat, ensuring all participants stayed informed.

2. Chat View Auto-Focus

Improved the chat experience by ensuring the chat message composer. Automatically focuses when initiating a direct chat.

3. Group Chat User Filtering

Resolved a bug preventing filtering for Admin and Account Owner user types when starting a group chat, providing more flexibility in member selection.
