Alexa Invocations

Unlike Standard Alexa skills an invocation name is not required, instead, commands to control your devices can be sent by saying "Alexa" and then giving the command.

connecX Smart Home Skill

Before you can use the Smart Home functions ensure that you have enabled your connecX Smart Home Skill on Amazon.

The Skill can be found here.

To enable the skill you will also have to complete account linking, the details that are required are your connecX username and password.

Voice Commands By Device Type

Depending on the kind of devices that are configured with your Smart Home the command phrases may change. 

A list of phrases can be seen below.

Switch

Alexa, Turn On/Off the <Device Name>

Alexa, Turn On/Off the Kitchen Light

Switches the device on or off.

Dimmable Light

Alexa, Turn On/Off <Device Name>

Alexa, Set <Device Name> to 50%

Alexa, Set the Kitchen Downlight to 50%

Dimmable lights can be turned on or off, or have

their percentage set. 

Blinds

Alexa, Open/Close <Device Name>

Alexa, <Device Name> Up/Down

Alexa, Raise/Lower <Device Name>

Alexa, Open the Kitchen Blinds

These three invocation will either

fully open or close your blinds.

AC

Alexa, Turn On/Off  the <Device Name>

Alexa, Set the <Device Name> to Heat/Cool

Alexa, Set the <Device Name> temperature to 24 Degrees

Alexa, Set the Living Room AC to Heat

Alexa, Set the Living Room AC to 24 Degrees

Depending on your AC you can set the temperature

mode or turn it on or off.
